Your journey
goes through thick primary rain forest. The roads winds
down for 30 km and gives you a splendid view on the landscape. Bamboo
lean towards the road from both sides of the road. The rolling hills are
sometimes covered with green forest and sometimes blank, following the
slashing and burning practiced by local farmers to grow rice and other
crops.
In RANOMAFANA is the well known national parc.
Witness the variety and uniqueness of the Malagasy fauna
and flora.
A few years
ago, a specie of lemurs, the golden hapa lemur,
was discovered in this parc. Other animals include the sifaka,
many species of chameleons, a multitude of butterflies,
to name but a few.
